Grand Opening
Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site
We are thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site. We have been planning this since last spring and constructing the site since September. Now we can finally say it's ready for the public.
We've got 70 children's Books reviewed. There are 30 Featured Books which have expansion ideas for the classroom teacher or the individual reader. There are sections of the site which focus on US History, Math, Native Americans, Rivers and many other subjects. There are lists of professional books with short annotations and several professional books with excerpts. To date there are over 200 pages of information on the site. And, most importantly, all of it is organized in a way which makes it easy to find what you are looking for.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who stopped by the site during the evaluation phase and gave us feedback. Your comments were very helpful and extremely encouraging. We were thrilled by the amount of positive response. It affirmed our belief that we were on the path to something special.
We would also like to thank Teaching K-8 Magazine for their support in this endeavor and the efforts of Didax and SRA in encouraging us when the web site was just a dream.
Coming soon will be: many more children's books reviewed, the expansion of the subject areas, contests with professional books and children's book prizes, more author studies, and more information on Carol Hurst's Products. Check the What's New page for the latest additions.
